Failed upgrade Issue

I tried upgrading the plugin from 4.0.0.2 to 4.0.0.5 from dashboard but failed to fully upgrade it because of some folder permissions on my local setup resulting in an error. However that been said if I go to plugins page in dashboard it show the latest version of plugin but I cant activate it.
I tried removing the plugin from dashboard and installing it again manually by coping the plugin in the plugins folder and try activating it again but I still can’t activate it.
Clearly something went wrong on failed upgrade which is now preventing it to be activated again.
Any thought on how I can fix this?
