    Hello,

    I am trying to take backup but after some preparation of the backup it fails with the following message

    BAckup creation failed

    Based on what we observed, the issue could be:

    Your site is on PHP 8+ and some of your plugins are only compatible wth older PHP versions, causing issues during the backup creation.Either disable those plugins or temporarily change to an earlier PHP version.

    This error happens even when I disable backup of plugins. I went through the plugins and I don’t see to have any which are not compatible with the 8+ version of PHP.

    Can you please helP

    Hello @detomassino ,

    Please follow these steps:

    1. Navigate to plugin’s menu section “Other options”,
    2. Change the backup method: https://prnt.sc/1s1ofpa
    3. Save the “Other options” section
    4. Force stop both processes: https://prnt.sc/1trv1tm

    After that, please run the backup process again, and kindly let us know if it worked well.

    Can I ass one more thing?

    When I change the settings in the BAckup Migration plugin I often get a message

    “There was an issue during saving, some setting may stay unchanged”

    And they indeed stay unchanged. So I can’t reproducibly select option 3 from your screenshot above

    Hey @detomassino ,

    Indeed, plugin log shows no plugin configuration is in place, which is a very unique case. The changes in settings were therefore not applied.

    Please navigate to plugin’s section: Troubleshooting > Check advanced options > Reset configuration

    This should force the default plugin settings. Please also make sure that plugin folder on your server has sufficient writing permissions.

    Then, try to apply the settings from my previous message and Save them.

    Please let me know if things work afterwards.
