For some time now, a few weeks or maybe two months, I don’t remember, Abandoned Card Lite has been reporting tons of abandoned carts, even 4-5 per minute, with zero values. It seems to be generating false positives every minute, accumulating hundreds or thousands of fake carts. The plugin also reports real abandoned carts. I have version 6.5.0. No other problems.

    Hi @vinicius23,

I understand your concern, and I apologize for the delayed response.

You can disable the setting “Start tracking from Cart Page” in our plugin temporarily. Disabling this setting will not capture the visitor’s cart on the website where the user’s email address and name are not entered. This setting is located at WooCommerce -> Abandoned Carts -> Settings -> General -> Cart Settings.

This will ensure that you will get only genuine abandoned carts. Please do the same and let us know if you have any questions.

Hi, Yes I have the same issue with my client site. We have over 5000 abandoned cart transactions all with $0.

I’ve just changed that setting you mentioned to disable the setting “Start tracking from Cart Page” in our plugin temporarily. I hope this fixes it.

What is causing this please? I’m assuming they are dodgy people or bots causing it ? Please advise so we all know how to fix things.

    Hi @kristinubute,

Sorry for the delayed response to this.

Thank you for your message and for following the steps to disable the “Start tracking from Cart Page” option.

You’re right — this issue is most likely caused by bots or automated scripts visiting your site and triggering the cart tracking before any genuine customer information (like name or email) is entered. When “Start tracking from Cart Page” is enabled, the plugin starts recording a cart as soon as someone adds an item, even if they never proceed to checkout. Because bots can hit the cart page repeatedly, it can result in thousands of empty or $0 abandoned carts.

By disabling that option, the plugin will now only track carts after a valid email address or customer information has been captured — ensuring that only real potential customers are logged.

Please monitor it over the next few days and let us know if you continue to see fake cart entries. We’ll be happy to investigate further if needed.
