Thank you for posting and pointing this out Zane.

The only thing from that sentence that is a paid feature is “terminating other sessions”. The rest is all included in the free edition.

Clearly this is a mistake, because the same thing is mentioned further down under the premium features. By the way, we have already fixed this.

Thank you for pointing it out and I am glad to read that you like the plugin. We would appreciate if you can spare a minute to rate the plugin.

    Have a great weekend.

Hello Zane, after reviewing this, actually there is nothing wrong with it. The title of that section is: WORDPRESS CHANGES AND DETAILS THE WP ACTIVITY LOG KEEPS A LOG OF.

That section summarizes the list of changes / user actions the plugin can keep a log of, one of them is; the plugin will keep a log when a user terminates other users sessions. This is an option available by default in WordPress user profile pages and the plugin does keep a log of that. There are no limitations in the free edition to what actions the plugin can keep a log of.

The functionality of terminating user sessions via other means (which is a premium feature) is listed under: PREMIUM FEATURES LIST.

I hope that clarifies matters. Should you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

    Hi Robert,

Thank you! I’m grateful for the detailed reply, ownership, clarity and recent plugin updates.

The confusion I’m wanting to remove is still present. I’ve linked a screenshot indicating the sections and detailed them below.

What would add clarity are the following updates:

    1. Admin Menu:
      • Replacing the (+) icon with a currency symbol, paid verbiage, or any other indicator that those menu items are paid. Even better, declutter the menu by removing them entirely, considering theres already an “Upgrade to Premium”. Also, the (+) icon is widely accepted as an open/close expand/collapse indicator in the UI/UX community and not one to indicate a user must pay to view whats behind the link.
    2. Plugin Detail Tab:
      • Removing this verbiage from the “WORDPRESS CHANGES AND DETAILS THE WP ACTIVITY LOG KEEPS A LOG OF” list and any other features listed that are not available in the free version to their own section of premium features.

User activity such as login, logout, failed logins, and terminating other sessions.”

I’ll gladly rate the plugin once the above are either confirmed via an update or briefly explained why not.

Again, thank you the time spent contributing to the community.

    Hello Zane,

    Thank you for your reply. To answer your concerns;

    1. Admin menu; while I understand where you are coming from and thank you for sharing your opinion. The icons we use and the number of entries we have in the plugin’s menu are a design decision that do affects the functionality of the plugin, nor they are confusing. It depends on the context, but the + icon is also used to highlight upgrade or add functionality for example. Having said that, we will discuss this internally and do more research, after all, if it helps, we’ll gladly update it.

    2. The “WORDPRESS CHANGES AND DETAILS THE WP ACTIVITY LOG KEEPS A LOG OF” is exactly that – a list of activities that the plugin keeps a log of. WP Activity Log logs an extensive array of activities that INCLUDES session termination, This is not a feature that needs to be unlocked.

So basically, when a user clicks the button “Log Out Everyone Else”, which is a functionality available by default in WordPress in the My account page:

The FREE edition of the plugin keeps a log of that action, as can be seen in the below screenshot.

You are confusing stems from the fact that the premium plugin includes a feature that allows admins to terminate users’s sessions, which is listed under the section “PREMIUM FEATURES LIST”.

I hope the above clarifies this issue. Should you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Regarding; “This is not a feature that needs to be unlocked.”, or another way:

    I downloaded a free plugin,
said plugin creates 11 menu links,
6 of the 11 menu links are enticing me of a feature that I must purchase, i.e., “implying a user must pay to unlock certain features”.

There is already a bright green link to purchase the premium version, I can click that and view more detail if I choose. The additional 5 links are excessive, clutter valuable menu real estate.

Solution: Remove all links with a (+) keeping only the “Upgrade to Premium” link. If the features are not available in the “free” version, do not clutter the menu with redundant “purchase me” links.

Thank you for your time, you’ve marked this as resolved, and I will now rate your plugin.
