@jbny1 – This is often a case of a conflict with another Fancybox being used from another plugin or the current theme. Have you checked if there are any conflicts of this nature … it could also be a more general conflict so please make sure to check all of your active plugins.

@photocrati – Do you guys have any other info? None of my plugins have changed in the last 6 months other than updates. The same is true for my WordPress version – just regular updates.
I’m also using the same theme I have for nearly a year.

Hi I am having the same problem except none of the effects work when changed via the options menu. I have tried thickbox, shutter, lightbox etc and they all result the same: the thumbnail opens the image in a new window.

It was working (shutter was chosen) up until this week. Possibly caused by updates?

@photocrati – thanks guys – got it sorted out. The “” Q and A FAQ and Knowledge Base for WordPress “” plugin was causing an issue with the jQuery mode set at “force latest version” vs WP Included. Switched to WP and all is right again with Fancybox.
