[FAQ] Can I import data from another analytics plugin/app?

We get this question on occasion, and unfortunately, it is not possible to import data from other plugins or apps into Independent Analytics.

We opted not to pursue this functionality after reviewing the requirements and the data that would actually get into the reports. Other analytics platforms, like Google Analytics, have different data structures and entirely different metrics, which makes it hard to convert the data into something that would make sense in the Independent Analytics dashboard.

For this reason, page views is likely the only metric that could be imported reliably, and those views may not even be attributed to any particular pages. Any other data would require some level of manipulation and we do not want to display anything other than real data.
