The plugin ‘wordpress-seo’ is causing your trouble.
You will need to use your hosts cPanel (or an FTP client) to gain access to your website file directories.
Once there, navigate to the ‘wp-content/plugins’ directory.
You should then see a folder named wordpress-seo. Rename this folder to something like wordpress-seo-broken.
This will manually deactivate the plugin.. and should allow you access back into your website.
Thanks, Josh, I will give it a try tomorrow morning. I am too tired to fuss with it now. Bed time for me on the Westcoast. I will let you know how it turns out.
No sleep for the wicked π
Absolutely. Please let me know tomorrow.
Hey Josh –
I thought I would clean house and inadvertently corrected my problem when I removed some unused plugins.
I guess one of them was breaking the page editing portion of wordpress.
At any rate, thank you very much for responding so quickly last night to my problem.
Regards
Josh, I have the same problem and I also have wordpress seo and I renamed it but I still cannot get in. Should I delete the plugin? or could it be another plugin?
I see his error stated wordpress-seo.
My error is below
Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_register_plugin_realpath() in /home/content/11/10846311/html/midplains/wp-settings.php on line 213
not really sure what to do with that?
@stillcrazy2247,
Glad you got it working!! It’s been my pleasure. I ‘linger’ around here from time to time. If you ever need me, just click on my link to the right… you’ll find my contact info if you look hard enough π
@gwestring,
Please create a new thread next time. It is considered impolite to interrupt someone else’s thread. If you find this thread, and feel it is relevant to your own, link to it from a new thread you create π
Is that the extent of the error? It appears something is calling a function which does not exist. But, it’s coming from a WP core file.
You may want to try and manually update WP. Sometimes things can get crossed during the automated update process.
@josh,
Im sorry, I am brand new to this forum. I had created a thread on my own but haven’t received any comments yet.

I will try to figure it out. I have a feeling it might have something to do with us having one url hosted underneath another url in godaddy.
I’m also having the same problem after installing wordpress 3.9
The error is: Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_sample_permalink() in /wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/admin/class-metabox.php on line 1121
This happens when I try to edit any post.
