Yesterday My website showed a error 500. I couldnt even access the admin.
After some hassle I did a fully fresh reinstall of WP adn got my database bits by bits back in order.
When trying to activate the plugin I get the following message

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Since the plugin has been updated 16 hours ago, I guess this might be the reason why my site was down… In anyway, could you advice how to solve the problem cause I love the plugin for my FB feed.

    Alex,

Thanks for contacting us! Can you turn wp-debug mode to true in your wp-config.php file and try to activate the plugin again. Hopefully this will display an error along with the Fatal error message that will help us further.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for the quick answer.
I followed the step you described but unfortunately, nothing extra with the error message. At least with Chrome…
With IE (i know…) I see as extra that there is a HTTP 500 error but no further details.

I wish I could give you more information.

Well shoot… What if you turn off all other plugins and try a different theme. Does it still trigger a fatal error?

I did a try with all plugins deactivated and the twenty twelve theme… Without more success…
When deactivating the plugin and deleting it, are the database entries also deleted?
I’d like to try a clean install of the plugin.

Are you using the premium? if so what version of plugin are you using? Also what version of free version are you using?

    Thanks,

    Hi Justin

I use the free version 1.9.3 (that’s the latest right?) with the latest WP version 4.4.1

Further the latest version of the onetone theme that requires the magee shortcodes plugin. Further I used the WP Construction Mode and the Google Analytics Dashboard for WP plugins.

    Everything in the latest version.
What I don’t understand is that the day before yesterday, everything worked fine and nothing has been changed since.
The fresh install (WP files & database) solved my error 500 but since impossible to activate the plugin… Maybe I should try to activate it direct via MySQL but I dunno exactly how I should do that.
