    Hi there!

We got a fatal error on our site.

After deactivating and activating all plugins I figured it appears when I activate WP Mail SMTP. As soon as I activate the plugin page is blank. The config file debug mode produced the following error:

Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 16384 bytes) in /kunden/470493_20148/webseiten/kihh/wp-includes/class-wpdb.php on line 2431

Also now we are getting a lot of emails on one of our accounts. I am not sure how to proceed now and would be glad if you can help me.

    Thank you!

    Julia

    Hi @youliya,

Thanks for reaching out! Please deactivate other plugins and activate only the WP Mail SMTP plugin on your site to see whether you’re getting this error.

The error indicates that your server ran into the set limit of memory allowed for this process. This most often happens when other plugins are running in the background, keeping the site’s memory use close to its limit.

To increase the memory limit, you can follow this guide.

Or else, please get in touch with your hosting support with the full error log and they should be able to resolve it for you.

    Thanks!
