Hi,
WordPress 2.8.4
It’s too old… see on the plugin page: http://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/updraftplus/ – “Requires: 3.2 or higher”.
Note that if you can use a sufficiently old version of Simple Backup – not sure which, you’ll have to experiment – http://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/simple-backup/developers/ – then backups that it creates can be restored on later WordPress versions by UpdraftPlus Premium. So if your strategy is to upgrade, then that’s one option.
Best wishes,
David

Thank you, I will look into that, but how do I get out of the error message? I can’t do anything until I solve that — all pages in the admin are inoperative.
Thanks
Hi Nailds,
If you Google “WordPress how to deactivate plugin”, then this comes up 4th: https://www.ostraining.com/blog/wordpress/disable-a-wordpress-plugin/

Thanks David — I am marking as solved because the procedure seems pretty straightforward, once I have access to the files, which I do not have now.
I was attempting to use a Performance plugin to optimize my site and suddenly, the site went down. A 500 Error. But, I was able to go to UpdraftPlus – Restore. All I wanted to do was restore the plugins. I clicked on plugins, then Restore. You found my plugins zip in the dropbox, but it said the file size had changed. Well, I did it anyway, and now the site doesn’t come up at all. What can I do????
Hi jerrilyne,
If you’re wanting to restore a site that you do not have WP dashboard access for, then it can be done manually:
http://updraftplus.com/faqs/i-want-to-restore-but-have-either-cannot-or-have-failed-to-do-so-from-the-wp-admin-console/
Alternatively, you can delete the site, re-install WP and UD, and then import the backup set into the clean site.
It’s the end of the day in my timezone. So please expect me to go silent after this! But, as per the WordPress forum guidelines – http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Forum_Welcome#Where_To_Post – please don’t post in other peoples’ topics. Please open a new topic if you want to continue.
Best wishes,
David
