With a recent update, my website crashed and I’m getting this error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 1073741824 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 4096 bytes) in /…[redacted]…/wp-includes/class-wpdb.php on line 2320

There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.

I’ve received this error before and I’ve already bumped up my memory size, so I’m sure that’s not the issue.

So, I started disabling plugins and found that consistently and immediately after reinstalling and activating woocommerce, this message happens. The only way to fix it is to delete the plugin. It seems like there’s some automation happening right when woocommerce installs that my website doesn’t like, so it crashes.

I suspect part of the issue has to do with the fact that I migrated my database from one webserver (hosted at quantpsych.net) to my current one (simplistics.net). I’ve had a problem with that in the past (it had something to do with cron jobs. If I remember right).

Any ideas how to fix this? I have thought about doing a fresh WP install, but then I’d have to recreate the entire website, which I’m not too keen on.

  • Hey there, @simplistics24! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

To confirm, the error happens when you have only WooCommerce active an no other plugin?

Can you also confirm if it happens with only Woo and while using a default theme such as Storefront?

Furthermore, I’d like to understand your site properly. Please share with us the System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

I actually just fixed the issue. I noticed that the site health status was saying there were automated tasks that were not working. I looked in the database table at the “actionscheduler_actions” table and saw a bunch of rows with no dates and “pending” as the status. I just emptied the actions that were pending and it suddenly worked.
