Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_json_encode…

    Hello,

    I have this error when trying to login on my website:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_json_encode() in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage22/co/ol/ca/coolcatillustration.co.uk/public_html/wp-admin/includes/misc.php on line 668

    Im not technically minded and I know it’s something to do with the update being incomplete. I read on here I need to do a manual upgrade via my ftp but looks a bit complicated. Can someone help me please?
    Im not sure what version of wordpress im using either it’s been at least 6 months since my last upgrade.

    Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
