Fatal error: Call to undefined function date_diff() in /home/content/**numbers removed**/html/evdbtld/wp-content/themes/customizr/inc/parts/class-content-headings.php on line 558

    Hello,

I just installed wordpress on a new subdomain and just installed Customizr, and I’m getting the error quoted above, instead of where the posts should start.

I installed the same theme earlier today on a different subdomain and it worked fine…

    Any ideas?

I was working with 3.2.7 (just came out in last 15hours)

-> I uploaded version 3.2.5 and it seems to work fine! for now.

    Any comments?

Hi, can you please confirm that your version of PHP is below 5.3 ?
(you can check the php version in your WP admin in : Appearance > About Customizr, then go down to System Informations)

    Thanks for your feedback

Ok thanks, could you please share the name of your hosting company ? This could be useful to anticipate the impact of this php version issue.

    Ok thanks,
Some new features of the theme are not supported by servers using php version less than 5.3 (released in 2010).

Before I come with a fix for this, you can do the following :
    1) Open the customizer in appearance > customize
    2) navigate to Content > Post metas
    3) uncheck “Display the update date”
    4) uncheck “Display post metas”
    5) uncheck “Display a recent update notice”

    Hope this helps!

I reinstalled 3.2.7 and tried your suggestions but it hasn’t helped.
I’ll have more time to look into it later and will update if I figure it out.

I am happy to hear that! Thanks for the update.
    Set as resolved now.

Hi, I just installed customizr 3.2.8, with WP 4.0.1 and php 5.1.61 my hosting company is free.
I try the uncheck what you indicate in post metas but it is still the same I have the following error

Fatal error: Class ‘DateTime’ not found in /mnt/154/sda/5/9/marc.pontif/Wordpress/wp-content/themes/customizr/inc/parts/class-content-headings.php on line 553

    Could you help
    Thanks
    Marc

Nic gave you a clue above:

Some new features of the theme are not supported by servers using php version less than 5.3 (released in 2010).

Talk to your Hosting Company and see if you can upgrade your php version

Hi @mapo5319, you are using an old version of PHP (5.1.6 was released in August 2006…).
You’ll need to update your php version to 5.2.0 at least. See if you can ask your hosting company to do that for you?
    Cheers

Unfortunately, FREE is not going to upgrade their PHP version, so is it definitively impossible for me to use Customizr ? Or can i remove or put in comment some lines in a module of customizr to remove this problem ?
    Thanks
    marc

No it is not impossible. You can use a version released before v3.2.8.
Download it from here and install it manually.

In the next release of the theme,I’ll introduce a check in the php version that will prevent this kind of problem to happen again.

    Thanks for your contribution,
    Nicolas.

You can login to Godaddy and upgrade your php. Go to your hosting control panel. I am on Godaddy and using 5.4, their phone support will help you if you cannot figure it out.
