I tried to get on my website this morning and got this error: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare sdec() (previously declared in /home/adapdjxk/public_html/wp-includes/vars.php:110) in /home/adapdjxk/public_html/wp-includes/vars.php on line 177

I haven’t made any changes since the last time I was on it. Any ideas? I can’t sign in and make any changes either.

The blog I need help with is adaptingit.com.

  • The same exact thing happened on my website. Hope someone can help on this issue.

I think I figured it out, download a fresh copy of wordpress

extract it anywhere, locate the vars.php file, which is located in the file path public_html/wp-includes/vars.php.

Then connect via FTP to your website files, and navigate to that same folder and replace it. It worked for me!

    That worked for me, thanks!

Hi guys i have the same problem and followed things you mentioned here unfortunately I’m still getting the error
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare sdec() (previously declared in /home/mywebsite/public_html/wp-includes/vars.php:110) in /home/mywebsite/public_html/wp-includes/vars.php on line 177 i can’t sign in to do changes please help if you have other resolution.

Has anyone figured out the true cause of this error? Perhaps a plug-in injects code in vars.php and the plug-in has a vulnerability? Or perhaps it’s a larger vulnerability discovered in WP and version 4.3 fixes it???

Thanks very much for any insights!

thanks cristian. wonderful solution. Thanks for sharing.

How do i connect the vars.php to the ftp?
