    What is your PHP version?

This error looks like something form the very old PHP.

Exact same problem after upgrading. Site is offline now. PHP v 5.4.

I see I can upgrade to PHP 5.6, would that fix this?

It’s already PHP 7.2. Please consider upgrade and you won’t be hitting issues like this.

Yes, PHP 5.6 is not affected by this issue.

Thanks. It’s something I never think to upgrade, obviously.

All PHP versions below 5.5.0 are affected.

Why are you using such outdated PHP versions? It’s slow and insecure.

PHP 7 is great and lightning fast. The best way to fix this is to update PHP.

    Fixed in version 4.2.1.

PS: @okapy is right. The best way to fix this (and all other OLD version compatibility errors) is to use currently supported version of PHP – http://php.net/supported-versions.php.

Two reasons. I’m a novice at this and I rarely log into my hosting provider, so, out of sight, out of mind. I believe they only offer an incremental upgrade path. My only choice was 5.6. Once that’s cycled through, they will probably give me another upgrade step.

Site is back up with 5.6, thanx.

Actually, is it possible to downgrade Nextscript to the previous version before version 4.20 ? If so how to do this ?

Crashing the website because of upgrading to 4.20 is not so nice when having an older version of PHP. Would be good for nextscript to implement an php version check before upgrading, so that it states whats needs to be upgraded first instead of taking down the website after upgrading to 4.20

    1. No need to downgrade. We fixed the issue yesterday in the version 4.2.1. 4.2.1 is not compatible with all PHP versions down to PHP 5.2.

    2. We always test plugin with all currently officially supported PHP versions. As of today that’s PHP 5.6, PHP 7.0, PHP 7.1 and PHP 7.2.
