Fatal error has_cap()

    The plugin is causing a fatal eror:
    Fatal error: Call to a member function has_cap() on a non-object in …plugins/seriously-simple-podcasting/includes/class-ssp-settings.php on line 108
    What could cause this?
    This is a multisite install, with various user access manager installed, but inactivation of the latter does not eliminate the error. To get it working, I commented out the if statement on line 108.
