Fatal Error In AJAX Request

    Hello,

    Thank you for the plugin! I am noticing several fatal errors in my site’s logs related to the plugin.

    Uncaught Exception: Call to a member function getIP() on array in /code/wp-content/plugins/wp-statistics/src/Service/Database/Migrations/BackgroundProcess/Jobs/IncompleteGeoIpUpdater.php on line 78

    The URL that is triggering the error is:

    /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=wp_statistics_update_unknown_visitor_geoip&nonce=***

    Is this something that you might be able to address?

    Hi @michaelhull,

    Thank you for reporting this and for providing the detailed error log, that’s really helpful!

    I’ve been able to identify the issue in our code. The GeoIP background updater is encountering a
    type mismatch when processing certain visitor records, which causes the fatal error you’re
    seeing.

    I’ve escalated this to our development team to get it resolved. I’ll follow up with you here
    once the fix is ready.

    In the meantime, the error shouldn’t affect your site’s core functionality, it’s limited to the
    background GeoIP update process.

    Hi Michael,
    Good news, this issue has already been fixed by our team. The fix will be included in the next
    release of WP Statistics.

    In the meantime, if you’d like to stop seeing the error right away, you can update to the
    development version from our GitHub repository.
