    Hello,

I’m experiencing a critical error on my WordPress installation related to the Jetpack plugin. WordPress sent an automated message indicating that Jetpack is causing a fatal error on the site.

    Here are the details:

    • WordPress version: 6.8.1
    • Jetpack version: 14.7
    • PHP version: 8.4.3

    Error message:

An E_ERROR occurred on line 32 in the file:
    /wp-content/plugins/jetpack/jetpack_vendor/automattic/jetpack-publicize/src/class-publicize-utils.php

Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function Automattic\Jetpack\Publicize\get_current_screen()
    in /wp-content/plugins/jetpack/jetpack_vendor/automattic/jetpack-publicize/src/class-publicize-utils.php:32

Stack trace continues through several Jetpack files, eventually halting execution.

This error prevents access to some admin pages, including /wp-admin/network/about.php.

Could you please investigate and advise on how to resolve this?
Let me know if you need any more technical details or logs.

    Hi there, @ileiaeu,

Thanks for reporting this, and sorry for the trouble! Have you checked if the issue persists also after updating Jetpack to its latest version? It’s version 14.8

If that’s so, we need to investigate a bit further to know more about the issue (and thanks for sharing so much info already!) and try to replicate it.

Could you please post your site URL here so that we can have a look? If you want it to remain private, you can also contact us via contact form. If you choose to reach out directly, please include a link to this thread.

Look forward to your reply, thanks!
