• While attempting to install a child theme for the Genesis Framework from StudioPress (www.studiopress.com/themes/genesis) I received a fatal error message, and now every time I try to access my control panel I just get this message:

    Warning: require_once(/home/magscribbler/silver-tiger.co.uk/wp-content/themes/genesis/lib/init.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/magscribbler/silver-tiger.co.uk/wp-content/themes/Prose-Child/functions.php on line 13

    Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/magscribbler/silver-tiger.co.uk/wp-content/themes/genesis/lib/init.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/lib/php:/usr/local/php5/lib/pear’) in /home/magscribbler/silver-tiger.co.uk/wp-content/themes/Prose-Child/functions.php on line 13

    I was able to install the genesis framework with no problems. It was only when I tried to install the child theme that things went wrong.

    As this is a WordPress problem, can’t find support advice on Studiopress site (but will keep looking)

    I am a complete novice and have no idea what to do next or where to go for information about how to fix this.

    If anyone can offer any help, suggestions or advice I will be eternally grateful.

    my url is http://www.silver-tiger.co.uk

    Thanks and best wishes
    Mags

  • to get back into your site, use ftp or cpanel to rename or delete the child theme folder.

    this should reactivate the default theme and allow you to get back into the dashboard.

    try and download a fresh copy of that child theme (the error message suggests that a file is missing ?)

    the seller’s site might have instructions on how to install their child themes.
