Fatal Error on Facebook Instant Articles WordPress Plugin

I installed and activated Facebook Instant Articles plugins by Automattic. When I press the setup link to Instant Articles, I get the following error “Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home/expepqpx/public_html/nwork.media/wp-content/plugins/fb-instant-articles/wizard/templates/wizard-template.php on line 101” . Is there a way to resolve this? I am running WordPress 4.6 with Visual Composer, Tesla Theme Framework, Jetpack and a few other plugins. I deactivated all the plugins and tried activating only the FB Instant Articles, still the same error. Any help would be very helpful.
