We have a client using the events calendar plugin (latest version 6.8.2)and we came across an issue where visiting the widget page as admin (/wp/wp-admin/widgets.php) will result in the following fatal error:

Fatal error: Uncaught TypeError: Tribe\Widget\Widget_Abstract::setup_arguments(): Argument #1 ($instance) must be of type array, string given, called in {domain_path}/web/app/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/Tribe/Views/V2/Widgets/Widget_Abstract.php on line 61 and defined in {domain_path}/web/app/plugins/event-tickets/common/src/Tribe/Widget/Widget_Abstract.php on line 491
Fatal error: Uncaught TypeError: Tribe\Widget\Widget_Abstract::setup_arguments(): Argument #1 ($instance) must be of type array, string given, called in {domain_path}/web/app/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/Tribe/Views/V2/Widgets/Widget_Abstract.php on line 61 and defined in {domain_path}/web/app/plugins/event-tickets/common/src/Tribe/Widget/Widget_Abstract.php on line 491

Whats weird is that we’ve had this issue before and when upgrading to 6.2.3.2 at the time resolved the issue. However, it seems that the issue is back.

    Hi @nickrtm

    Thanks for reaching out.

We’ve just released an update for The Events Calendar plugin (v6.8.2.1). Could you please update your plugin to the latest version and check if it resolves the issue?

Let me know how it goes.

Hi, this issue still seems to persist in the current version of the plugin. For more context here is the XDEBUG Callstack:

    Hi @nickrtm,

I suspect there’s a conflict that’s causing the issue here. It would be good to test for conflicts. Could you follow the following steps?

    1. Deactivate all other plugins except for The Events Calendar Plugins.
    2. Switching to the Default theme.

Please read the Testing for Conflicts article before doing anything.

To be safe, we’d recommend conducting tests and updates on a Staging Server. Also, please keep a working backup of your website.

So I tried deactivating the plugins and it seems t be an issue with the The Events Calendar Pro plugin. I guess do I have to submit a ticket on the events calendar website?
