Fatal Error on YOAST Plugin

    Hi there,

    Since a few days I have a problem with Yoast SEO Plugin.

    Every time I click on one of the two items (WooCommerce products) I get this error

    The problem disappears if I deactivate Yoast SEO Plugin.

    I already tried to update all plugins to the latest version, as well as the website theme (and child theme too).

    I have found some other posts related to a similar error, and all of them were closed after a while for a lack of answer from the person that had opened them, unfortunately it didn’t help much.

    Any suggestion?

    Hello Simone,

    Thanks for reaching out about the fatal error. This is related to breadcrumbs and your PHP version. Can you confirm what version of PHP your server is on?

    We just released Yoast SEO v19.12 which includes lots of enhancements and bug fixes relating to this. More importantly, we have reduced noise from PHP 8.1 deprecations and improved compatibility with PHP 8.2.

    Please update your Yoast SEO and let us know if the problem persists.

    Great timing guys, with the new update it is working fine again. My php version is 7.4.33, would you recommend updating it just in case even if now it is working?

    Hello Simone,

    Thanks for the feedback, and glad to know the update resolved the problem. Support for PHP 7.4 ended 28th November 2022. So it would be best if you considered updating your PHP version.
