    Hi there,

I have two websites down, since an update with cleantalk.

    http://www.syniaditsolutions.co.uk

    AND

    http://www.serviceintegrators.co.uk

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_current_user() in /homepages/11/d507754124/htdocs/WP/ServiceIntegrators/wp-includes/capabilities.php on line 539

Please can you let me know why this could be happening? I need urgent help please.
    Thanks

  • Hello.

    Thank you for your request.

We are looking into this issue and we will fix it as soon as possible.

Please, downgrade to the previous version of the plugin using this instruction (Anti-Spam and Security plugins have the same instruction):
    https://cleantalk.org/update?platform=wordpress

The links to the previous versions are here:
    https://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/security-malware-firewall.1.20.zip
    https://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/security-malware-firewall.1.19.zip

    Sorry for the inconveniences.

    We will contact you.

    Your CleanTalk Control Panel: [ https://cleantalk.org/my/ ].

    Best regards.

Does this apply to both websites?

Yes, if you have updated CleanTalk in both websites, then downgrade in both backends as well.

Okay, that’s interesting. But I’ve got cleantalk on other websites, which have been updated and they’re working fine? I’m really confused!

We think it’s some sort of conflict with plugins we are not sure.

We are trying to fix it and we need time.

We will contact you when come up with a solution.

    Thank you.

Okay, the anti-spam plugin is fine and they’re on my other sites. The two sites above with issues are the only ones with this security cleantalk plugin, so it has to be that.
Please let me know what the issue is and that it won’t happen again. Both clients aren’t happy and are considering using something else.
So I really need a solid solution with a guarantee of this not happening again.

    Thanks

    Hello,

When did it happened? When you updated the plugin or later?
What action have you performed when it happened?

    Please, contact us.

Hi, I updated the plugin and the website was fine.
Then hours later (I don’t know how many) the site was down and the errors were showing up.
The first website http://www.syniaditsolutions.co.uk went down yesterday and then sorted itself out and then was down again this morning and went up again without anyone doing anything.

The second website, http://www.serviceintegrators.co.uk went down yesterday morning also but then stayed down until my client added the old version of your security plugin to his ftp and now the site is back up again.

So, it’s definitely your plugin and the update itself doesn’t make it happen straight away, it’s a delayed error.

    I hope this helps.

Yes, thank you. Every bit helps.

We are working on it. We hope we find out what is the cause of the issue soon.

We will inform you on the progress.

    Best wishes.

Should I deactivate the plugin on the SyniadIT site? It’s still activated and on the latest version 1.20?

I think no, do not deactivate it.

If you get any errors again then yes, it would be wise to deactivate it and inform us about the errors.

    Thank you.

    (@krissieg)

We did though, yesterday and today it has happened on syniadit. I don’t want to risk it happening again tomorrow. And how come it fixed itself? Is there a call action causing it from your plugin? As it didn’t cause it to go down permanently like the service integrator website. If I can get the ftp information from my client, should we roll back the version to the 1.19 version? Or will you be updating the 1.20 version with an update today?

    Thanks

Please, give us some time to investigate.
We’ll try to send you the fix in the nearby 2-3 hours.

    Thread Starter Krissieg

    (@krissieg)

Yes, that’s fine. Happy for you to investigate but I just don’t want the fault to happen again in the meanwhile.
    Thanks 🙂

We understand and we do not want it to happen again either.

It may be caused by cron. Cron was updated in 1.19. Then it makes sense to downgrade to 1.18 before cron was changed.

Here is the link to 1.18:
    https://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/security-malware-firewall.1.18.zip

We plan to release hotfix shortly.

    Thank you.
