Hmm – that error code is coming from WordPress core, not the theme. Let me test this on my install with Sela and I’ll get back to you.
To clarify, were you updating WordPress itself, or just the theme?
I just tested the latest version of Sela – 1.0.8 – with the latest version of WordPress – 4.3 – and did not get any errors, even with debugging turned on.
It sounds like something may have gone wrong with your WordPress core update, which is not related to Sela.
To rule out a theme-related issue, you could try temporarily renaming the Sela folder within wp-content/themes via FTP. That will force your site to fall back to Twenty Fifteen, as long as that theme is in your folder.
If you still have an issue, you might try a careful manual reinstall of WordPress itself. If you need help with that process, you can post in the installation forum –

– or perhaps it’s something your web host can help you with.
wandaa – did you get this sorted out? Sela looks like it’s running OK on your site now. Please let me know so we can mark this as resolved. Thanks!

Hello Katrhryn,
Thank you for trying to help me with the issue. It seems that things go wrong when I tried to update to a new version of WordPress and that the problem is not in updating the Sela theme.
I read the instructions how to reinstall WordPress but found it to be very difficult. So I decided to erase the blog and make a new blog, again with the Sela theme.
When I pressed the update button for WordPress everything went black again, so there’s the problem…That update wasn’t to version 4.3. but 4.2.4. Yesterday I received a message that the site is automatically updated to version 4.3.1. and everything seems to be running alright now.
At least it’s not in the Sela theme and thanks for checking that.
Thank you!
.
I’m glad you’re all sorted!
