Fatal Error with "date based" Permalinks

    Hi all,

    after upgrading to 3.9.2 my pretty permalink stopped working.
    What happens is that when I chose the date-based options (“Month and name” and “Day and name”) the posts do not open anymore: just a blank page is showing. With other Permalink options everything is in order. I tried to disable all plugins, and go back to standard theme with no effect. If I create new posts, they have the same problem. When “Month and name” and “Day and name” are selected, also the calendar is not working: clicking on a day containing a post, brings to nothing.

    I then enabled debugging, and found the following problem when trying to open a post:

    Fatal error: Class ‘WP_Date_Query’ not found in /srv/disk4/583805/www/run.foiaworld.info/wp-includes/query.php on line 2356

    Howdy foia65,

    This is just a guess, but something may have gone wrong during your upgrade process. Can you try the upgrade again? Navigate to ‘Updates’ and press the ‘Re-install now’ button – pay close attention to any warnings/errors that might be output during that process.

    Thanks for the advice, Will.
    At the end this is what I did (even if not with the automatic update, as I have a few customizations) A clean manual install did the trick.
    I would have liked to know what caused the problem, though….

    Glad you got it sorted!

    If I had to guess I would guess that there was some sort of file permissions or ownership issue that prevented the update from completing successfully. Perhaps your error log might provide some insight.

    Foia, are you on Linux or Windows? With the 3.9.2 update I am having a problem with permalinks too. Might try this reinstall trick.
