Hi @frandhikayuan
Thanks for reaching out. We’re reviewing the error now and will reply shortly. Apologies for the hassle.
Assuming no access to FTP or Hosting File Manager, the quickest fix would be to contact your hosts and request that they upgrade your PHP version to any version of PHP 7.
Hi @frandhikayuan
Sincere apologies for the problem. The error you’re seeing is due your server running an old version of PHP, perhaps PHP 5.2. WordPress recommends PHP 7. Several months of work has gone into this update but unfortunately, PHP testing only went down to PHP 5.6. That’s completely on us, we take full responsibility and apologise.
If you no longer have access to the WordPress admin then there are really only two ways to resolve that I can think of:
1. If you have FTP or Hosting File Manager access, go to /wp-content/plugins/ and delete the siteorigin-panels folder.
2. Go to Plugins > Add New and re-install Page Builder in WordPress. We’ve rolled back the stable tag so you’ll be downloading the previous version.
OR
Contact your hosts or use cPanel or similar access and increase your PHP version to anything in version 7.
Are you able to reach out to the party/department that handles your hosting?
I’m logging off for the night. Alex will be online shortly. Please, let us know if any questions arise and we’ll assist ASAP.
Hi, thanks for the reply. Sorry for my late reply, it was midnight when the problem started.
As I don’t have full control of the server (ftp settings and such), I’ll contact the server administrator and delete the plugin folder, or ask them to at least update the php version. However, that takes time and I can’t post updates to my problem immediately.
But, thanks for the reply. I’ll try to do what have been directed.
Really sorry for the hassle. Deleting the plugin folder labeled siteorigin-panels and located in /wp-content/plugins would be the quickest way for the admin to resolve. You could then reinstall version 2.7.3 from Plugins > Add New.
Updating the PHP version to 7+ would be helpful for your site in the medium to long-term. Thanks for the, let us know how it goes and as questions arise.
Hi @frandhikayuan, just checking in, I take it your server admin hasn’t been able to assist yet?
hi. unfortunately I only could reach the admin on next Monday/Tuesday, so should I give you updates, it would be on that day.
but, I can see that deleting the plugin would be the most easiest and feasible process, and nothing should go wrong with that, and that you gave the proper procedure to delete the plugin. so, you could consider this problem solved.
Thanks for the update and understanding, really sorry about this. The issue is resolved so once Page Builder has been reinstalled, all will be normal. All the best.
Hi @frandhikayuan
Really glad to see your site is back up and running. If any questions arise in the future, please let us know.
