Fatal PHP Error when using WP CLI

Using wp CLI to update WordPress core. Have been doing this for a couple years, and using SEO Framework as long as I can remember with no issue. Recently tried to update wp core and got this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '=' in /home/apps/wp-content/plugins/autodescription/bootstrap/load.php on line 192

I have the latest SEO Framework (5.0.2); the line in question is:

$_timer ??= hrtime( true );
