    Hi,

I got this error when I’m using a plugin to import data including images into my website:
PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function W3TC\get_filesystem_method() in /var/www/clients/client0/web11/web/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/Util_WpFile.php:22

    PHP Version 7.4.8
    Wordpress version: 6.1.1
    W3 Total Cache version: 2.2.7

    Thanks for any help,
    Paula

    Hello @paulak3

Thank you for reaching out and I M happy to assist you with this.
Can you please let me know if those imports fail due to the error or are successful regardless?
Also can you please confirm if you are using direct filesystem — FTP, SSH2

    Thanks!

    Hi Marko,

Import fails due to this. Strange thing is that I have 6 websites (different themes) and on some of them the import succeeds without error. So perhaps this is a theme issue.
    I am using FTP.
Also installed the same site locally, there this error doesn’t happen!
I now temporarily deactivated W3 Total Cache on the production site, so that the import is running again.

    Thanks Paula

    Hello @paulak3

    Thank you for your feedback.
Please check with your host and check the permissions for the FTP credentials.
Try also switching the theme to the known working themes to exclude the possibility that the theme may be causing the issue.
    Thanks!

    Hi Marko,

This is hard to test, since it’s installed on a production server/site. I can’t just switch themes. What do you mean with checking permission for the FTP credentiols? I mean: when I deactivate the W3 Total Cache plugin everything works smoothly. How can this be a permission problem?

    Thanks again, Paula

Hi Marko, since I couldn’t find what caused the error and since my import should run normally, I switched away from W3 Total Cache.
I am sorry, I am now using another cache plugin.
Thanks for the will to solve it.
    Regards, Paula

    Hello @paulak3

    Sorry for the late reply.
The problem is that W3TC has to check and require a file before calling that.
I’ve created a GitHub ticket in our repository on your behalf.
Please make sure to check the progress of the ticket regularly.

    Thanks!
