    Hello Guys,

I see both FB for Woocommerce and FB for WordPress was made by Facebook itself.

What is the difference as the description for FB for WordPress says “This plugin will install a Facebook Pixel for your page so you can capture the actions people take when they interact with your page, such as Lead, ViewContent, AddToCart, InitiateCheckout and Purchase events.”

My second but more important question is if I install FB for Woocommerce should I install FB for WordPress to track other events than what is related to ecommerce part of the site. Cause I have a blog and newsletter subscription as well.

If both plugins are installed does that lead to any problem like duplications in events or something. I hope you see what is the point of the questions.

  • Hi @daynese1,

The major difference is that Facebook for WooCommerce is developed with WooCommerce in focus and it wouldn’t work with other e-commerce plugins that are able to work with WordPress, while Facebook for WordPress is developed to leverage the WordPress ecosystem and support for various plugins and e-commerce platforms as well as WooCommerce.

If you are running only WooCommerce and a blog and newsletter, you can get your needs taken care of with the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin. Having two Facebook plugins isn’t recommended as it’s very possible that there are duplicate events and stats.

I trust that points you in the right direction, but if you have more questions, let us know. We’re happy to help.

Thanks, you made it generally clear for me what is the purpose of each plugin.

You told me: “If you are running only WooCommerce and a blog and newsletter, you can get your needs taken care of with the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin”. What do you mean by “only WooCommerce and a blog and newsletter”?

I thought like Facebook for Woocommerce is everything that Facebook for WordPress is, but with additional features. But it does not seem like that. What is the case?

    Hi @daynese1,

What do you mean by “only WooCommerce and a blog and newsletter”?

I meant to say, you would only need Facebook for WooCommerce, if WooCommerce is the only e-commerce plugin you use on your WordPress site. Some users may have WooCommerce and other e-commerce plugins active and try to cross-sell on other platforms.

    Hope that clarifies it?
