Hi Sireneweb,
I like the first idea, I could add a redirect meta-box on each post that will persist through updating slugs, or permalink settings changes. I think that could be really handy.
2. What sort of data would you like logged?
3. I don’t think I can fix this one, if a URL changes you will have to update the URL in the plugin manually.
2. With redirection plugin you can log all redirection url 🙂
3. Create a log manager to editer the url, and fix manually the url moove

Is it possible to update the plugin so that it retains social shares for any redirected links? Facebook allows the Like button to be edited so it retains the likes for any redirected URLs. Would be great if the plugin had this and for the other social networks too.
These suggestions are going to be in the next release. Should be a week or so, thank you for your inputs!
In Versions 2.1.1+
1. When using the new post/page selector, the plugin redirects posts/pages by their ID, allowing them to persist through slug or permalink changes.
2. The plugin logs hits. If you would like more data please let me know what would be important for you.
3. Solved in #1
4. I haven’t incorporated social shares for a page, I haven’t found a solution for that yet, sorry!
