Feature Request: Role-Based Acces

Hello,
first of all, thanks for all your work in this plugin!

We’re currently trying to set up a permission structure where a specific team member can access this plugin without being assigned a full Administrator role. Unfortunately, the plugin doesn’t seem to expose any custom capabilities, which makes it impossible to restrict access to it via role management plugins like User Role Editor or Members.

Would you consider implementing a role-based access control system in a future release? This would allow site administrators to define which roles can access the plugin’s features, keeping permissions tight and secure.

If a full permission system is out of scope for now, even a single custom capability (e.g. access_external_links_overview) would already make a big difference and would be a great first step.
