After reading through you blog, I came across why it has no share count, it keeps less JS to make it the plugin lighter and faster. Am marking as resolved now.

Thanks for the request, and for the update. Yes, it is intentional that the plugin doesn’t include share counts. An option which might interest you is EA Share Count, which I think manages to do sharing counts without JS (you can disable the JS, but I am not sure it affects the counts–I have not used the plugin myself, but it has a good pedigree).
I am planning to expand an existing filter to make it easier to add custom sharing buttons, so the next update should include instructions for that, so you could easily add something like whatsapp. Another user was interested in an SMS/text button; this would cover both situations. Thanks again!
