Feature Request: Sort by popularity

Hi guys,
I am looking for a way to sort feed items by popularity (f.e. based on social media shares). A possibility could be to include a way to use a 3rd party API (f.e. https://www.sharedcount.com/) for it.
Could you guide me on how to achieve that or would that be interesting for a pro add on?

@tuempelkoenig This is an interesting requirement, but it may fall outside the scope of our plugin’s functionality.
We rely on data provided by the feed source’s XML, and this seldom brings in the share count of posts. With RSS, we’re thinking more about new items appearing on the source site.
