• Sometimes when FeedWordPress checks feeds there will be many new posts. At present these are all processed and published at once. It would be desirable for several reasons to be able to space out posts over time, or at least specify a minimum time delay in minutes between successive posts.

One reason is that if the blog is integrated with social media like Twitter and Facebook, a burst of five or ten new posts at once can translated into an effective denial of service attack when all the social media bots start hitting the site, followed by a huge wave of human traffic. Being able to spread this out over time would be a hardware resource friendly thing to do.

Another reasons is that having a stead flow of posts makes for better overall traffic. I’d love to have one new post per hour, for example, rather than six hours of nothing and then 10 posts within one minute. Having a steady flow throughout the day increases chances of people seeing one of them and making their way to the site.

  • Auto Post Scheduler plugin works well in combination with FeedWordPress. You would set your FWP posts for Hold for Review (Pending), and tell Auto Post Scheduler to pull from your Pending posts.
