Would be great if you could set a start date for this to coincide with when a post/page gets unpublished. So after that date you could automatically redirect to a defined location for the old slug rather than a 404 page.

That’s a great idea, yes! I have added it to our ToDo list but at the moment we’re busy with a lot of project so I can’t give you a time when we can put this in 🙁
