• It would be great to be able to hide blocks from other site users for redundant blocks, or just to clean up the bajillion blocks that are shipped with core. 🙂

For example, on a site where there is no need to use some of the media blocks, it would be great to be able to toggle them off for specific users/user roles so they don’t need to sort through them or even see them as an option to add to a page. I have a lot of clients who get overwhelmed with all the block options. And, frankly, 80% of the blocks are never used anyway.

    Thanks for your great plugin!

    Hi @markcmoran,

Thanks for the kind feedback! I designed Block Visibility to control what is displayed on the front end. Therefore, I am a bit hesitant to add functionality that controls which blocks are enabled in Editor. It almost feels like this could be a separate block management plugin. 🤔

There are a few existing examples, but I have not tried them myself. That said, if you want more control and are comfortable add code directly to your functions.php file, the allowed_block_types_all can be very helpful. I found this great guide that explains how to use it in a variety of situations.

    Best,
    Nick
