I’m not sure I understand the question? You want to switch to using twenty fourteen and want to use the feature content grid still? Could you just download jetpack again?
I now use the gamepress theme but i Will switch to twenty fourteen. If i Will use the featured content do i need jetpack? I dont have jetpack and dont need it. So my question is does the content grid work without jetpack?
The formatting of a webpage is dependant upon the theme. You may need to do some customizing to get the same look.
All I can say is try it out and see what happens.
Yes, the featured content grid at the top of the index page will work without JetPack.
