Yes, it looks like your theme is just using the full-size as the post thumbnail, this is not linked to the retina plugin at all. Weird they are doing this… They don’t set-up their own image size for those featured images?
Maybe they did. But if you first used another theme, maybe the proper image sizes set-up by this Avada theme haven’t been generated yet, and therefore WordPress is using whatever image it can access and end-up using the full-size. The solution here is to use a plugin to rebuild all the thumbnails like this one: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/.
The retina plugin will also create the retina images when the base images are re-generated automatically.
Thanks for the prompt reply Jordy! I just did what you suggested… Then did a bulk generate in Retina 2X and flushed the cache. Nope, we’re still serving 2048px photos to low res users.
