On our client’s website, they’ve discovered that imported listings from other real estate agents (who apparently aren’t marking a featured image in the MLS) are almost always showing the last image as the primary image. Their listings have a featured image and it displays correctly.

In the importer, I have the box checked to show the “first image as the thumbnail” but this doesn’t seem to help.

Was your issue resolved? I am all of a sudden having the same problems with incorrect thumbnail images displaying.

    Hello,sawdesigns.

There is a new option which you can find in Importer schedule settings. First or Last image upload as thumbnail. Try to check it.

    Regards.

Not sure if this will help. I experienced similar a year and a half ago. At the time there was a WP update and one with WP-Properties too. Not sure which code changed but whichever it was that occurred – essentially it reversed the order of the image presentation in the sidebar (first last and last first – it use to be the first image was the ‘automatic’ featured image if one was not selected).

In this latest update ( a few weeks ago) I’ve noticed that even when you change the order of the images in the “uploaded to this page” area of the image gallery, they don’t change in the sidebar. They are displayed in the order that ‘wordpress’ uploaded to the image library overall…(This was always generally an issue with wordpress – at least the comments I found on it seemed to suggest that it was but a bit off topic).

I’ll have to dig for the code edit – it was in the core part of the plugin – will post here as soon as I can find it. It had to do with the ascend or descend order of the thumbnails as I recall. I hope this helps.

I should have included that my comments were related to individual property uploads not ‘imported’ properties.

    Hello, @jimii

That option which I mentioned was added due to the issue all your mentioned.

    Regards.

Thank you Maria. : ) Is that only with the ‘importer’ ?

    @jimii

Yes, it is related only to importer.

Thank you Maria – as always greatly appreciated.
(I don’t use the importer… seems it could be complex for multi agent / multi company setup)

In your case that really was related to WP update. I remembered now.

    Thank you for your notices.

I’m seeing this exact problem. I’m using importer and the option ” Automatically set the first image as the thumbnail.” is checked on.

    I’m using wp-property version 2.1.6.

This was working properly before, and I haven’t done any updates to the website so I think something in a recent plugin update “broke” this.

The site is http://www.castlerealty.ca and I also left a message through your “contact-us” page.

    Hello,tomstep.

    I have answered you directly.

    Regards.

Maria: Your suggestion was to “select last image as thumbnail”. At first I couldn’t find that setting, only “select first image as thumbnail”.

Something has gone “wonky” here though. I updated all the wp related plugins a number of days ago, and today they were all set to update again. Was there a new release over the past day or two of every plugin?

I now go into the importer and I see “Select first/last image as thumbnail” now (the first/last is a dropdown selection box) in the “advanced” section. I check that off, click “save configuration”, deleted properties, ran the import in the browser and the thumbnail images for those properties remained to be the last one in the list, not the first. I then go back in to the configuration and the check/settings I selected were not saved. ????

    One other thing I noted:
In the attribute map under “featured image” I have it mapped to “images/image[@primary = 1]/url” and under “images (allows multiple)” it is mapped to “images/image[priamary != 1]/url” – there is an obvious spelling mistake – primary vs priamary – in the mapping for “images”. I can change it and click “save configuration” but when I exit and go back in, the changes were not saved.
