Featured image as background image?

    Since the featured picture is a background image it doesn’t seem to get picked up by plugins such as pin it. Pinterest buttons appear on every other image except the featured image which is usually the one a person would want to pin. Is there a way to change this to not be a background image?

    Jason,

    Does the Pinterest plugin you’re using include an option for including background images or selecting a default image for visitors to use?

    If not, you can use a plugin like WordPress SEO to add Open Graph protocol to your site. The OG meta tags will automatically specify your featured image.
