Featured Image Crop Issues

I am having a similar issue that many others seem to have had, however, I have read countless threads and watched a bunch of you tube videos trying to diagnose and fix the problem, however, nothing that anyone has suggested to other people has worked.

I am running 3.9.1 with the Hueman theme. When I set the featured image, it crops off the top and bottom. I have tried changing the thumbnail size height in functions.php, tried adjusting size settings in the set featured image section (nothing I do changes anything), i’m running the regenerate thumbnails plugin…nothing. I have spent too much time on this. Somebody please help me. Please. Thank you.
