Featured Image from External Website URL

Hello, I need some help with a featured image from external link or website URL. Actually, I know that we can easily get the featured image from external image source by using this plugin https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/featured-image-from-url/ but with this plugin, we need the exact same image URL to get featured image. What I want is that, Suppose when we post a website URL such as https://www.washingtonpost.com on facebook or skype, we can see a featured image appears. Now is there anyway if we can get that featured image as our featured image in our post/page by just submitting the external link as https://www.washingtonpost.com instead of the exact image address?
