• I used to be able to add a featured image to a post in my admin. Then, suddenly, I couldn’t. The featured image module doesn’t show up in the admin for new or published posts. Featured images show up on the front end for posts that I published before the function went missing.

I tried clearing cache, changing themes and reinstalling WP… nothing helped. In Panels under Preferences, Featured Image doesn’t exist as a document setting. I didn’t add any plugins today, though I think I updated the WP Super Cache plugin.

I’m at a loss for what to do. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • I found something in an article that says to check at the top for screen options and see if featured image is checked

Yeah, there used to be a Screen Options dropdown on the post admin, just like there is on other admin pages. I was looking for that, thinking I somehow accidentally deactivate the Featured Image function. But I don’t see Screen Options on the post admin page anymore or anything comparable.

    Thanks for responding.

I just deactivated the WP Minify plugin, which I think I just updated yesterday as well. That fixed the the problem.
