Hi there, we’ve encountered an issue with the Conditionally display featured image on singular pages and posts plugin.

Since the latest WordPress update, I’m unable to update a post that I’ve just created if I select the ‘Display featured image in post lists only, hide on singular views’ button, so that the feature image doesn’t display multiple times within the post. It causes the following error: ‘Updating failed. Could not delete meta value from database’.

Any advice? I don’t want the featured image to be duplicated, but clicking the box causes the page not to be able to update. We have used the plugin successfully until just now.
    Many thanks

    Hi nmjmorgan,

Thanks for reporting the issue. To track down the issue, could you please answer the following questions?
    – What plugins do you have installed?
    – Are all plugins at the latest version?
    – Does the issue appear on new posts created after the update of WordPress or only on posts created prior to the update?
    – What version of PHP do you use?

    Have an excellent day!

    Good morning,

Thanks for getting back to me. I’ve not installed any recent plugins, but have the following:
    Akismet Anti-Spam
    Bluehost
    Featured Image from URL
    HTTP Headers
    Insert Headers and Footers
    Jetpack
    Kirki
    Really Simple SSL
    Recent Post Widget with Thumbnail
    Site Kit by Google
    Wordfence Security
    WP Add Mime Type
    WP fastest cache
    WP recipe maker
    WP forms lite
    Yet another stars
    Yeost SEO

All plugins are at their latest version

This issue only appears on my last post, which was created after the lasted Word Press update – no other posts affected, and it’s only when selecting the show in single posts only box (your plugin), that I see the issue.

    PHP version: 7.3.6

Thanks again for your help – I can’t see any other plugins that do the same job; without your plugin, feature pictures show multiple times (3) at the top. Should I consider upgrading my Theme? I use Kale (free).

    Best,
    Nick

    Hi Nick,

Thank you very much for the detailed information. It seems like the issue is related to the WP-Recipe Maker plugin. I will further investigate to see, if there is a way around it. You’ll hear from me, as soon as I know more (it might take some hours to days, however).

    Cheers,
    Cyrill

Many thanks! Ah, that’s our main plugin as it’s for our food recipes. Hopefully someone can be done otherwise we will have a lot of work indeed.

    Best,

After investigating the issue, I think it is a problem that only the authors of WP-Recipe Maker can solve. I’ve raised an issue in their support forum.

The issue is due to a bug in WordPress core. However @brechtvds released an update of WP Recipe Maker that solves the issue with WP Recipe Maker. So after updating WP Recipe Maker to version 7.1.2, it should work again.
