• I am trying to find a theme I like working with for a non-blog site. I was working with Coraline until I noticed that twentytwelve has fully flexible layout. One feature I must have is Featured Image. That was working for Coraline, but is not for twentytwelve. I set the image to be 960×250, the same as the recommended header size.

My issue relates to the Full-Width template. When I choose the Front Page template, the featured image shows up in the sidebar. NOT where I want it.

Is this really the design intent?

Is there another fully flexible template I should consider?

Yes, this is default behavior of Front Page template of 2012.

From your other topic, it seems that all you want is a big full image at the top of each page. If this is the case, then you can do this with whatever theme.

Before uploading an image or choosing one already uploaded, position your mouse at the top of the post’s editing screen. Then click the “insert into” with full-size and link to none, this image will be inserted (pasted) into the top of the post’s/page’s content.

In 2012, you can do this with page assigned to use Full-width if you want, but it works with any post/page.

The header image of 2012 is below nav bar, even if you mod it to work the same way as Caroline theme’s, it wouldn’t worth the effort doing the mod anyway.
