I am having the exact same issue. ACF appears to be interfering with the option to set featured images.
Also having this problem. Anyone know if there’s a previous version that is compatible?

The latest version on Github seems to solve the problem. It was changed less than 24 hours ago, so I suggest that anyone having this issue should download the latest version from github (Joost23 posted the link).
