    Hi everyone,

another problem I cannot solve without help. I imported my wordpress.com blog to a self-hosted blog, included my media, but only the featured images (title images) have 1024px so they’re blurry. The other photos inside the articles have 2048px.

I already set up the media image size:
    Preview 300px
    mid size 600px
    big size 2048px

Then I used the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin but it didn’t help. I also uploaded a new blog post (the newest one with the iPhone 11 Pro, AirPods and a fountain pen), in the media manager the picture has 2048px, but it’s still displayed as a 1024px featured image.

    That’s the problem blog:

And that’s the ‘old’ blog I imported the content frmo, here the featured images have 2048px:

Thanks for your help in advance!

    Nobody who’s able to help?

Hi, both of the photos at http://derbuerokrat.de.w019e745.kasserver.com/wp/2019/04/12/review-palomino-blackwing-volume-4/ and https://derbuerokrat.wordpress.com/2019/04/12/review-palomino-blackwing-volume-4/ look the same to me. Am I missing something obvious?

Maybe your browser was caching the old blurry photos? If you append something like ?nocache onto the end of your site URL in the address bar, does it fix the photos then?

Hi Jarret, thank you for your reply.

Other browsers, other devicec and ?nocache unfortunately don’t change anything here. It’s only about the title photo, the other ones are all in 2048px: On the problem blog (w019e745…) it has a 1024px resolution (hence it’s blurry on my screen), but on the original blog (derbuerokrat.de) it has the ‘right solution’, 2048px.

Which photo are you referring to as the title photo? The image behind the site title/tagline while they are different, both appear non-blurry to me. Are you able to grab a screenshot of the issue you’re seeing and upload it to https://snag.gy and post the image links here?

Hi Jarret, sorry for the late reply. The featured/title photo is the one I set up as “Beitragsbild” (in german; translation said featured photo) in the post settings on the right side. It’s the one that’s displayed on the main blog site.

Here you can see it, descriptions included in the photos:
BUEROKRAT.DE (old blog, 2048 good quality):

W019E745 (new blog, 1024 blurry quality):

    Thanks in advance!!!

Ah, do you have Jetpack installed on the new blog? I think since the old one was using WordPress.com it was using Jetpack to serve the images.

It may be that if you install Jetpack on the self hosted that you’ll get a better picture quality.

I would’ve never had the idea to install Jetpack – I just did and it works, the featured images have the 2048px resolution now. Many thanks to you, Jarret, and for your kind help! 🙂
