Featured images/thumbnails

    Having registered an image successfully for the first time, I see in the folder there are 7 thumbnails of various sizes (as opposed to the 5 thumbnails created using the normal WP upload media). Is there any way of creating fewer thumbnails (an issue because I have thousands of images)?

    Also, the log shows 10 “Featured files being created”, the last three of which are duplicates. Is that usual?

    When this plug-in registers media, it creates thumbnails according to the theme settings.
    Try changing the theme.

    Thanks for the quick response. To my surprise, I discovered that the website indeed has 10 image sizes registered. Woocommerce was creating the extra ones.

    For my application, where I’m uploading a large number of images for a photo archive, these media files don’t need these extra image sizes (e.g. the woocommerce ones). I wondered therefore if a useful enhancement you might consider for the future is to allow a user to choose to generate either the full set of image types, or just the standard set (thumbnail, medium, large).

    Thanks for that new plugin. I still think that adding the ability to select the thumbnails required woud be a very useful enhancement for “Media from FTP”.
