Featured Posts (Bonus Task: Multilingual)

Hi!

I wonder how it’s possible to get the Featured-Pages-Feature showing posts.

In addition – I’m using Polylang because I have a multilingual site. Is it possible to alter the code in a way, so that the Featured Posts change to the desired language when hitting the language selector?
Unfortunately I’m not a php-guru – I’m starting to learn it now – and I do not understand completely what is happening in Polylang under the hood. But i guess with some knowlege it must be possible to get Featured Posts compatible with Polylang, right?
I’m going to buy you a big cup of coffee if you could give me a hint or even a snippet ;D
