Features requiring jQuery don’t work

Hello, thanks for the great starter theme. When I try to use Bootstrap components that require jquery, like the carousel, certain features do not work. In the carousel example, the slider navigation arrows do not work unless I load jquery directly into the footer (which I obviously do not want to do). I hyst cannot get it to work, do you have any solution to this?
